Description
At an ice cream cafe in Stuttgart, Germany. May 31st, 2004.
One more photo for the gallery.
This is probably the best photo I've ever taken of my wife, Sara. We were very tired, I recall, by this stage of our trip in '04. I don't remember the name of the cafe, only that it was in a very nice shopping district / downtown part of Stuttgart.
On the back of this photo, Sara wrote: "We got ice cream and coffee w/ Bailey's at a cafe. Jeff got ice cream and beer with coke (diesel)."
At the time, I ordered 'diesels' as Germany calls them, wherever I could get them. A beer mixed with coca-cola. I don't know how such a nation of purity laws for their brews gathered a taste for that mixture--I certainly can't order one in the states, unless I order the beer and cola myself and mix the two in another glass. I don't drink this mixture anymore--it would probably taste very strange to me these days.
At any rate. This is another photo in which I concentrated on merely framing everything right. The light was good. The scan doesn't do justice to the color of the day, but I left it more or less as it was.
If you look really closely, you can spot me, in a sleeveless white shirt, in the reflection of Sara's sunglasses.
