Quincy Clamp

Having little to say about this bit of art other than the fact that I wanted to have a couple of organic things in it (living, breathing things), I'll explain the title instead.

The work looks like a floating lab or apparatus thereof, to me. While pondering a title that was a little bit more than descriptive, Sandy Skoglund came to mind. Skoglund is a photographer and installation artist whose works I adore. She's most famous, perhaps, for her installation called "Radioactive Cats:" [link]

Wikipedia tells me Skoglund is from Quincy, MA. So I borrowed the name of the hometown for this image. Quincy Labs, coincidentally, is a real enterprise. The internet tells me they do incubation machines, or something of the sort.
